“Love is like a tree – it grows, strengthens, and leaves its marks,” says jewelry designer Janja Prokić as she presents new additions to her popular collection. Her lockets bear the texture of tree bark on their surface, reminiscent of the romantic tradition of carving hearts and initials into trees. It’s a tribute to love that matures and deepens with time.
The most remarkable piece in the collection is an engagement ring with a surprise. Instead of a traditional diamond exposed to the world, a half-carat stone hides inside the heart, surrounded by a starry sky. “The moment of engagement is an intimate moment between two people. Why should the symbol of their love be displayed to the whole world?” Janja explains her unconventional approach.
For those who love symbolism, the collection offers additional poetic details. Inside the lockets, you’ll discover a starry sky and a moth with spread wings – a reminder of childhood’s Great Universal Celestial Love. There are also branches of a symbolic tree extending into a crown, signifying the growth and blossoming of a relationship.
The jeweler drew inspiration for the campaign from two sources. For the gold collection, she chose ducks – animals that maintain lifelong fidelity. “In Asia, they are rightfully symbols of love and devotion,” she explains. The silver collection pays homage to romantic letters. “In the digital age, the magic of handwritten love declarations is disappearing. For me, they remain irreplaceable,” adds Janja Prokić. The collection also includes practical pieces for everyday wear – larger silver heart-shaped earrings and a necklace with an extended chain, designed so that the heart rests directly on the wearer’s chest.
