The legendary fashion house Louis Vuitton is introducing a new version of its iconic Millionaires sunglasses, which celebrate their 20th anniversary since their debut this year. These sunglasses, originally designed by Pharrell Williams in collaboration with Nigo and Marc Jacobs in 2004, are now making a comeback in new variations.
The first model, known as 1.0, stays true to the original design. It features a straight upper edge with metal strips in a patinated gold effect, adorned with motifs inspired by the Louis Vuitton monogram. The enameled S-lock shaped hinges on the temples add a touch of vintage charm to the sunglasses. This model is available in a chocolate tortoiseshell design with gradient lenses and turquoise joints, or in an all-black version.
The second model, 3.0, represents a modern interpretation of the original design. It’s made from durable carbon fiber used in the automotive industry, ensuring lightness and flexibility. This model boasts elegant silver hinges engraved with the LV logo and metal strips featuring the Damier pattern. It will be available in black with orange lenses for chromotherapy or in an all-black version.
The new Millionaires collection pays homage to the success these sunglasses brought to Pharrell Williams and Louis Vuitton two decades ago. At the same time, it serves as a bridge between the famous past and the promising future of this iconic design.
Luxury fashion enthusiasts and Louis Vuitton fans will be able to purchase these exclusive sunglasses in boutiques and on the e-shop from August 8, 2024. With this release, Louis Vuitton once again confirms its position as a leader in luxury fashion accessories that combine innovative design with traditional craftsmanship.
