Several years ago, during a trip to Kamchatka, she fell in love with photographing wild animals in their natural habitat. It was her first adventure trip with friends to photograph bears. Each shot captured the unique beauty and power of these animals, which later became the main focus of her photographic work.
From childhood, Gabriela Dítětová had dreamed of traveling to Africa. Her heart longed to explore the savannas and encounter the local cultures. This dream finally came true six years ago, and since then, she’s been returning at least once a year. “Being surrounded by that wild beauty, exotic fauna and flora, watching sunsets over the savannas, and soaking in the atmosphere of such a breathtaking part of the world is incredibly inspiring to me. Every trip brings new adventures and deepens my love for Africa,” she shares.

Africa is a continent full of contrasts and colors that enchant. The atmosphere is unforgettable, with each day bringing new discoveries. “Imagine you’re on an adventure, seeking to capture the perfect photographs, and at night you settle down to sleep in a tent in the middle of the wilderness. That’s when you realize you’re not alone. The dark night hides secrets, and you don’t know what animal might be moving around your tent. Every rustle in the grass or distant sound keeps you alert, and you must be prepared for any possible scenario. Your senses are heightened, and adrenaline pulses through your veins. The awareness that you’re surrounded by wilderness and not quite at the top of the food chain adds another dimension to your adventure,” admits Gabriela Dítětová. Yet this doesn’t stop her adventures.
“During my last trip, fear took over me. At night, I heard sounds and felt something scratching on the tent’s canvas. My mind immediately started wildly speculating — a lion or a hyena? Both predators have their own terrifying characteristics. The lion symbolizes strength and power, while the hyena is associated with cunning and danger. But which one is worse? In the morning, I found out it was a male antelope trying to find safe refuge from a lion. That night taught me to respect wild Africa even more,” she recounts.
Gabriela Dítětová embarks on journeys aiming to capture the beauty of wild animals and nature. Her shots are full of emotion and life. Each image is like a window into the harsh yet beautiful world of animals. Her talent has long surpassed private collection boundaries, now touching the hearts of friends and magazine readers alike.
