No Bullsh*t Beauty

We are honored to introduce Afterglow, a new Czech e-commerce platform that aims to bring undiscovered niche beauty brands to the local market. According to the founders, these brands are characterized by 100% honesty.

Afterglow was created by two women: Bára Sainerová and Eva Vondráčková. Both bring experience not only from the beauty industry but also from chemistry and marketing. This overlap into these fields has defined Afterglow’s core pillars: effective cosmetics, potent formulations, and 100% transparency in communication.

“We want to bring quality niche products to the Czech Republic. However, we don’t exaggerate or attribute miraculous powers to them,” explains Bára Sainerová. “After 15 years in the beauty business, we’ve grown tired of the classic, repetitive marketing bullsh*t. That’s why we’ll never tell you that buying a new lipstick for Mother’s Day is essential, because it simply isn’t. Instead, we want to offer products without unnecessary buzzwords and without twisting the actual effects or even science.”

Both founders have played various roles in the beauty industry, from design projects to corporations and global brands. They created their joint brand with the vision that beauty should be more about fun and inspiration rather than creating self-doubt.

“We don’t want to scare anyone or forcefully set ourselves apart from others. We focus on fresh, quality ingredients from sustainable, ethical sources, and on the uniqueness of each product and brand,” adds Eva Vondráčková.

The Brands on Everybody’s Lips

Afterglow’s current offering includes two previously undiscovered niche brands. The first is Phaedra Botanicals, which has Greek roots but was founded by a Czech woman – underwater archaeologist Lucie Vidličková. In its unique Fresh Series line, it offers products full of potent, bioactive substances. Production is managed based on a pre-order system. As a result, customers have fresh serum in their bathroom within three weeks, made specifically for them. This approach allows Phaedra Botanicals to prevent overproduction and waste.

The second brand is the ultra-minimalist Aiva Organics from Finland. It follows the original motto 1 + 1 = 10, letting the beauty world know that even two skincare products can be used in ten different ways. Afterglow’s founders refer to their iconic oil and cream as a “dream team” that can handle skincare for face, body, and even hair. The brand also boasts Ecocert certification.
