Marking the 50th anniversary of the 911 Turbo, Porsche has prepared something special. This one-of-a-kind creation pays homage to the 1974 prototype gifted to Louise Piëch, daughter of the company’s founder, for her 70th birthday.
This exceptional 911 Turbo Remastered by Sonderwunsch faithfully reimagines the original car. Like the 1974 prototype, it sports a silver finish, now in GT Silver. The right front fender features the original Austrian autobahn sticker, while the rear badge uses the typeface from the first production 911 Turbo – a detail that required special permission from Porsche Classic.
The interior combines red and black leather with the distinctive red and blue tartan pattern Mrs. Piëch specified for the original car. The retro feel is enhanced by green illuminated gauges, including the tachometer and Sport Chrono dial. The car showcases the capabilities of Porsche’s special Sonderwunsch program, which specializes in creating unique, bespoke vehicles.
Fifty Years of Evolution
While the 1974 prototype featured a 2.7-liter turbocharged engine and narrower Carrera chassis, this version embraces cutting-edge technology. Under the hood sits a 3,745cc six-cylinder boxer engine that, thanks to twin turbochargers, delivers 580 horsepower. Paired with an eight-speed PDK transmission and all-wheel drive, it accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in just 2.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 199 mph.
Unveiled at the Icons of Porsche festival in Dubai in November 2023, this unique example shows just 35 kilometers on its odometer and is headed to auction in Dubai. It offers collectors a rare chance to acquire a special piece that bridges the rich heritage of the brand with its current technological prowess.
